This is a local favorite at the Legends area. Owned & operated by a family who's traveled the world perfecting their menu. My favorite pizza was at a small Sicilian restaurant in Italy & this pizza is my #2 fav! Authentic as it gets in the states with the super thin crust in wood burning oven! This one won't disappoint you & your family. Order a specialty or a build your own in an environment that is casual with a modern feel. The garlic knots were an outstanding appetizer!! Enjoy!!

On Sundays, they're supposed to close at 10pm. To our surprise and dismay, when we stepped in at 9:34pm last night, we were told they had already closed. We'll maybe give it a chamce in the future... That's a big maybe.

We have been here twice so far. Thankfully, we live about 25 min away or we would be eating way too much of their pizza and have to be rolled out to our car. Friendly wait staff make the visit very enjoyable. The pizza crust is the best you will find in town, in my opinion. The Snooty Coyote pizza is amazing! I don't even like sausage, but the Elk sausage on this pizza changed that for me. We also tried the French pizza. We took the recommendation of our wonderful waiter and had them do an oil/vinaigrette type of sauce instead of the marinara. So good!

Short Story: Horrible experience and attitude by the owner and waiter! Pizza was better than Papa Johns - by a little. Long version: Greeted and seated by a greasy guy with a shiner black eye, turned out to be the owner! I shared with the waiter two things: one of my best pizza experiences at a restaurant owned by Italian/Sicilian's; and that I wasn't happy that a side salad with pizza was $6! That's all I said! I was then accosted in my booth by the owner (the one with the black eye), arms spread wide so I couldn't get out. The first thing he said, with complete disdain was, "I believe we can satisfy your fancy palate!" Honestly! Then proceeded to lecture me on how he needs to make a living, that the restaurant is named for his great grandmother, listing many fancy dishes that I can't pronounce, all to prove the restaurant's validity! All I could do to not make things worse was to say I was sorry and didn't mean at all to offend him. Unbelievable! What's more unbelievable is that I didn't walk right out the door!!! I was on a tight schedule, so I ordered. While I waited, alll I could think of was what might be happening to my food! He even came back two more times during my meal with the same attitude - "is everything measuring up to your standards!" It was that bad! As it turned out, the pizza was better than Papa John's. I will give him that. Though, he did say his pizza could be better if he could purchase flour from overseas, but then he couldn't compete if he did. I'm all for giving people grace. For all I know, he was still sore at the one who gave him the shiner! But this was completely out of line! I left feeling proud of myself for keeping calm and not engaging in the craziness. I prayed I wouldn't get sick in the event they did something to the food, that God would intervene in this guys life, and left them a 23% tip! In the past, I would have given him another shiner!!

This place is insulting. Dont ever try to tell me you serve "Neapolitan style pizza"! No you dont! Im from Chicago, so I know something about pizza. I came here with some "friends", all of us from out of town, and we decided to try someplace that was not a chain. Sadly, we ended up here. I knew from the second I walked in that I felt iffy being here. It was big and dark inside and there were not too many people dining at the time. There were stupid pictures on the walls of some family (the owners I think ?) shooting deer. Eeww. But whatever, maybe at least some po-dunk good 'ol boy NRA member might know something about fresh meat. The only fresh meat in THIS establishment were the few unsuspecting customers. Our table ordered two large pizzas. The "chef" Roberto and the Nancy or something like that, I think. It took about ten years off my life waiting the 20 min for the food to come and when it did arrive I quickly realized it was a shame that I had had more than 9 years left to live! One of the pizzas was still doughy on the inside while the other was black and tasted like semolina ash! They both tasted like soap and gross. When we asked our server about it, she said that thats how neapolitan style pizza was and that the sauce was also more authentic "Eye-tAl-yun" so thats why it tasted soapy...yyeeaah. Ok. So we didnt really eat much and were still hungry so we ordered zepolis (little donut things) for dessert. They were also raw inside and tasted like they had been rolled in butter and turkey drippings. When we asked about this we were told that they were fried in lard which is the "healthy alternative". Uumm what? Yeah, sure, lard is healthier than SOME things...like drinking Krispy Kremes old fry oil every afternoon before going to the gym! Oh! And to make matters worse...three dollars for a diet coke!!! AND NO FREE REFILLS! Calling Roberto a "chef" is like calling Popeyes Chicken gourmet! At least Popeyes charges fast food prices! Something this place should start doing! We spent waaay too much money here, its embarrassing! Anyway, will not be returning.

Great pizza. We did a build-your-own. The service was great. Attentive yet not smothering. The interior has a pub feel yet great for kids too. My only complaints would be that the topping were a bit skimpy and the mozzarella seemed to be a low-quality for a "gourmet" pizza place. It sort of had a liquidy texture more than a stretchy texture. We LOVED the crust. There's even olive oil on the table you can use to dip the crust in. Definitely worth dropping in. We enjoyed it!

The ingredients are the finest. The service is timely and friendly and the food is great! Very good value.

Delicious home made sauce. Friendly service. A big piece of paper on the table for the kids to draw on. The Italian sausage was authentic and not chunks of mystery meat. I will be going back.

I'm surprised by all of the positive reviews. Started by everyone at our table being carded, which is strange when you're over 40. Anyways, we moved on to the garlic knots and they were average. Did the pizza and salad and it was something I could've made at home with a totinos and a bag of iceberg. The pizza was completely underdone and had absolutely zero brick oven taste or char. Won't be back!

I think this is more of an "incomplete" review than a "average" review. Went here last week before a Sporting KC game. Having the staff wear team gear? BIG plus. It shows they're not only locals, but that they like the team in their backyard. (Contrast that with some other Legends businesses, who don't like having SKC folks stop by.) Food choices were varied, to say the least. Elk sausage? Foie gras? Really? Points for creativity there. I went with a basic spinach and bacon; friend had a simple cheese. The smaller size was perfect for one, and it wasn't bad. It wasn't the most knock-out awesome pizza I've ever had, but it was certainly better than some pizzeria pizza I've had. Service is where this one becomes questionable -- it took a while for somebody to get to us, and there were a couple of times when we were ignored when we ran low on drinks (and other staffers who just happened to stop by gave us refills). The server WAS friendly, though -- and did apologize for the wait on our pizzas (because there was a large group order right before ours). At the same time, though, even with the large group, service seemed to be a little spotty. The place did enough to deserve another shot. It hasn't done enough to make it a definite game-day stop, at least not yet.

I thought this place was pretty good. We had a groupon. We paid $20 for 2 salads, a large pizza and zepoles. The salads were very generous in size but I ordered ranch dressing and it was gloppy and obviously came from a huge store bought vat. The pizza was very good. We had half french and half combo. I loved the french. The zepoles were fine but if you've ever had the real deal in NYC they are just ok. I would go back if I was in the area but I wouldn't make a special trip.

We had fast and friendly service once we entered. The pizza was very tasty though a little smaller than we expected. That said, it was the perfect amount for a normal appetite. The ingredients and the menu were a unique and impressive(Brie, kalamata olives and elk) for a pizza place located so close to a mall. The service continued to be very good throughout the meal. We enjoyed our meal and will be back again.

  • Jennifer S.

Ya know those servers who have much more important tables because you are young and "wont tip well" as the stereotype goes? Well, that happened to us. The place itself is not somewhere I would usually go, but we were in a hurry to browse Nebraska Furniture Mart and it was there. The pizza was great actually so their doing that right, but other than that it was similiar to Fridays and Applebee's. As far as the service though, awful. Talked so fast and ran away in two seconds long enough to ignore our questions. We gave up quickly and enjoyed the pizza, but were excited to leave. I won't be going back unfortunately. For the prices I will head back to midtown and enjoy something local. But hey good pizza Chiusano's! ....meh.

I loved this place! We ate lunch here early on a Sunday and had a great meal. It took a while for our waitiress to get to us but she apologized and I told her it was fine. (We were sitting right by the bar and I could see she was running the bar, answering the phone and taking orders all by herself for the time being.) I had the margherita pizza, hubby had the bbq chicken and my son had ground beef. We all really enjoyed our pizzas, mine was garlicky and delicious! I wish I could've finished it! Our waitress was very friendly to us and our son. Bar area looked like a great place to hang out and have a drink. I would definitely go back here!

This is one of the many shops near the Kansas Speedway and the Legends shopping center. Very nice décor and spacious interior. You can watch them make your pizza! I had the vege pizza which was tasty, but small! That's the problem with artisanal pizza, they are too small! Nice char on the crust and the toppings were plenteous. Center of the pizza was a bit limp, but not uncommon. Also had a side salad which was a huge amount of lettuce with a few tomatoes. They have a lot of other interesting items on their menu which I will try next time. I think I will dine in to experience the atmosphere and try one of their desserts! Take out was very quick and everyone was very friendly!

I have eaten pizza from around the world and a couple of years in the DC area... and I really, *really* enjoy Chiusano's Pizzeria! I spent 3 years in Italy and travelled many times up and down the western coast. I'm pretty confident I can spot an authentic re-creation of the deliciousness of the region. I've had everything from street-vendor calzone in Naples to pizza by the meter further down the coast, to a 4Euro slice of thin crust that was the size of a medium pizza (I had to fold it twice). Chiusano's is spot on. First, each pizza is made fresh and to order with gourmet ingredients such as elk sausage, brie and duck foie gras, to name just a few. I've been half a dozen times and taken out (despite the 30 minute drive) 3 or 4 times. I've had a different pizza each time and have loved every single one. My favorite is probably "Chef Roberto's," a taste tornado of elk sausage, garlic, kalamata olives, spinach, anchovies, fresh basil drizzled with mozzarella cheese. Second, the staff are quite attentive and very friendly. Maybe I'm just jealous because I'm not very good with names, but by the 3rd trip, they recognized us by name and greeted my family and I with big grins. The place is great for groups and big families. I would say that while my kids are well behaved, their type-A personalities have worn a bit on servers at other restaurants in the past. The folks at Chiusano's, in true Italian form, have welcomed the whole family with a handful of crayons and pages to color for the kids and cold draught beer for the adults. If you're looking for Chicago-style pizza, keep driving. But if you're in the mood for a thin crust with artisan flair, you've got to take a trip to Chiusano's (at the Legends Outlet Mall). You won't be disappointed.

I took the family to Chiusano's on a Sunday evening to give this place a try, as I am a pizza aficionado and my wife had eaten here once with a friend and told me how good it was. It resides in what used to be Ted's Montana Grill, and the decor inside has been left pretty much the same as that former restaurant. We were seated right away and poured over the menu. I will start out by saying when someone says "Brick Oven pizza" to me, I get a certain image in my mind and taste buds as to what that entails. I picture places like Red Rossa in Clive, IA which serves a phenomenal Neapolitan-style pizza. Well, the service was good, the decor was not bad, and the pizza was just okay. We ordered a combination sausage and mushroom pie and one of their specialty pizzas (the Snooty Coyote: elk sausage, brie and mozzarella). The toppings were very good, the cheese was fine, and the sauce was good with a bit of sweet and tangy flavor to it. The let-down for my family and I was the crust. Not sure if this was a one-time thing, but it just did not have much of anything going for it. The crust could not seem to make up its mind if it was to be soft and chewy (like a New York or Neapolitan style) or more on the crunchy side. The texture was off, and there was no real flavor to it. I might have had my expectations set too high, but admittedly I expected more from a true brick oven pizzeria than we got at Chiusano's. So, would I go back? Yes, because I would like to give them a second chance and some of their other specialty pizzas intrigued me, but I won't be making a special trip next time to go there.

As a pizza lover I was a little disappointed. I do lean towards more of a thick to deep dish pizza though, which is not what is sold here. All pizza is thin crust. However, they have really unique choices for toppings on pizza. You can have brie, elk sausage, just kind of anything that doesn't seem normal and it is good. I did enjoy thier buffalo chicken pizza. I was very very happy with the flavors and amount of toppings that the pizza holds. So it only gets a lower rating because of my bias.

We ordered a pepperoni and added garlic. The garlic was so strong and bitter we all took one bite and put our slices down. It was not edible. I order a wide variety of food and am not picky, I could not even stomach an entire slice. The waitress did not care, did not alert a manager when we sent the entire pizza back and declines a box. She did give us a bill for the initial pizza and the non garlic replacement. She also acted out out when we requested a manager. The replacement pizza tastes fine, so it was the bitter garlic. I have had plenty of garlic, and am able to differentiate between roasted and bitter. Updated. The manager did handle this after the fact. I went to the car w the kids and my wife stayed inside and spoke to the manager, who was very nice. Maybe a new and slightly dishonest waitress? Not sure and I still didn't like the garlic, bitter and too much.

Pizza is pretty good here, with the option for gluten free and goat cheese pizza for my sensitive little one. Coming from Pennsylvania and having nothing close to my residence but dominos, this place far exceeds them. I enjoy their food.

Love that everything was great even the kids menu'The pizza was so good and so was the atmosphere'!! We had a create your own pizza with The traditional saice - so good!! My daughter ordered the macaroni which was perfect!! The place couldn't be better!!! Can't wait to go back!!!

We tried out Chiusano's on a whim because nothing else sounded good in the area and we'd never tried this place out. We ordered a few different pizzas, and to our delight they were pretty okay. Some reviewers have complained that the pizza is thin and flimsy and hard to eat. Okay, so I noticed the ultra flimsy thinness as well, but our attentive waitress noticed my expression and she quickly came over explained that these are oven baked thin crust and they are MEANT to be folded in half and eaten! Ahhhhh...I got it now. After that little tidbit of advice, eating a Chiusano's slice was a breeze. Weirder, but easier. A few weeks later it was our middle kids birthday and she asked to come back here for our traditional "family birthday" dinner. I guess she liked it a lot! The kids get their choice for bday dinners, so we reserved a table for 20 and arrived with our table ready for us. We ordered several different pizzas and a variety of toppings. All in all, everything was okay. Our waitress was over sharing her personal life with us, but I actually enjoyed talking with her and giving her some motherly advice. ;) She brought out a big bag (literally served in a brown paper sack) of hot and sugary Italian donuts for my daughter, which she loved! We ordered them for the rest of us too. I'm not super crazy about the atmosphere, in the former Ted's Montana Grill space which shuttered a few years ago. I guess Ted Turner loves 20 foot plus ceilings and dark furniture and dark everything! This place would be so much more welcoming with some lighter colors and not such a dark and drab interior. Amazing what a can or ten of good paint will do!

A few of my friends and myself are dedicated tailgaters for Sporting Kansas City. Be it rain, snow, heat, cold, nothing stops us. However time can, a Tuesday US Open Cup game at 7:30pm prevents most of us from getting a true cookout going. We all put our heads together and went with my suggestion of here, after having it once before with my parents. Couldn't go wrong with the perfect location pregame either. Walked in to see three of our friends already there, with three tables already pushed together and the waitress ready to take drink orders and such. $3.50 Boulevard Wheat isn't cheap but compared to other joints around the stadium, was perfect for the hot blistering day plus a dollar more buys you the glass it comes in, SKC themed. This place is totally team themed as well, with the wait staff clad in Chiusano's customized SKC jerseys, not very cheap uniforms but completely pleasing to our recently rabid fanbase. My curiosity piqued while I read the description of the Chef Roberto's pizza. Starving, ordered myself a personal 9' at $10, not bad, and figured it would take about 30-40 minutes to arrive. 20-ish minutes later, my beautiful cheesy pizza was sitting in front of me, awaiting my devouring. The salty flavor of the anchovy was kept in line by the gamey taste of the elk sausage. The tender and succulent kalamata olive also added a certain hint of Mediterranean to the dish. All in all, a wonderful start to what was a perfect night, 3-0 win and I didn't die of heat exhaustion. Now we know if we have time issues or something happens to where we're unable to tailgate, we have a perfect pregame spot before games. Easily can park in the season ticket holders lot, then walk over to the restaurant, then walk the slight block and a half to the stadium. Can't go wrong with that ease of access as a fan.

We went here for a B-day party and there were 8 in our group and our waitress was great. She got all three 3 correct and put up with our shenanigans. The food was just okay. Hubby and I split the Speedway pizza minus cheese. It has pepperoni, ham (which tasted like cubed Hormel) , mushrooms and onions. Crust was nice and thin and crispy. The Bourbon flight was awesome. $9.50 for 3 different Bourbon samples. Between 6 of us we tried all 9 on the menu. There are actually 10 on the menu but the stopped carrying one of them. There was a weird smell in the place we never did figure out what it was. The service was great. Our waitress took incredible care of us. She kept our glasses full and kept checking on us. She really earned her tip. Not sure we would go back for the food, but we would go back for drinks.

After visiting the casino, we wanted a quick bite. We hadn't been the Legends in a few months and there was a lot of new stuff. We decided we'd check this place out! Their menu had a lot of original and interesting sounding pizzas. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted because so many of them looked good! I went with the Margherita (lame, I know...) and a side salad. Our server was very nice and got us everything we needed. The salad was great (just a house salad), but they definitely didn't scrimp on any of the toppings. There were lots of fresh veggies on it and the lettuce was good, too. The pizza was good, if a bit "droopy." It seemed as if the crust wasn't totally cooked in the middle. The edges were crispy but it was doughy in the middle. I'm not a fan of deep dish pizza or a lot of sauce so I was excited for thin crust. I think we'll give it another shot in hopes of getting a more cooked pizza.

Was on our way through KC and stopped for some lunch. Sign of the door said looking for cooks but we through caution to the wind and went anyway. Really wanted a good brick oven pizza experience. We started off with the Antipasta Bread. We both liked it. Had a good flavor and nice sauce to dip in. So good marks on the app. Excited we ordered a 16 inch split with half Roberto's and half traditional with a customization of hold the onions. We waited about 20 and our server came out to let us know that our pizza order was messed up and had to be remade "on the fly". Then went to the next table over and told them the same thing with a commend of "not sure what is up with the kitchen today". Alarms are going off left and right by this point. 10 minutes later our pizza shows up. Looks good but as soon as we pull a slice its obviously super soggy. Crud. We tried and ended up leaving pizza behind. Would have complained but time was already not on our side and just didn't feel like giving them another try. Really hope they get some good pizza cooks but until then I'll be happier with some basic delivery pie.

Our waitress was great - staff was friendly and very helpful. For KC, this pizza was pretty good. I liked the 9" size. It's perfect for a little over indulging and for sharing with your friends that have ordered something different. The Snooty Coyote and Nancy's Favorite were both excellent. I am excited about going back to try more. Sure the toppings were not piled on but that's the way I like it. I like to taste all of my pizza, not just the toppings.

Stopped back into Chiusano's last night after finishing a little holiday shopping at the Legend's. It was pretty calm when we walked in, yet it was a Thursday evening and even the Legend's weren't overly busy. We were a fan of the pizza last time and I have to say, this time was just as good. We got the Traditional Combo that's more like a "supreme" wherever else you'd go. It has the thinner hand tossed crust that you can fold in half and enjoy like a New York slice. The portions here are massive! The side salad we started with had crisp lettuce and homemade croutons (uh, yum!) and their dressings are delish as well. I found out last night that the owner has opened various restaurants over his career and this was his first real shot at a pizza place. I think it's a great place to get a pie and the beer was cold. The boyfriend always wants to stop here when we're out at the Legend's and I'm a big fan of this place too. I can't say give it a 5 because I can see where some people don't like the type of pizza that's served but I really dig it. If you haven't come here, check it out. We sat at the bar and had awesome service all night long. A guy stopped by that was staying at the Great Wolf Lodge with his wife and kiddos and picked up a pizza for take-out so this is a GREAT option if you're staying close! :)

Fast and suggestive service. Very attentive. 3 at the table ordered individual pizzas, tasty offerings which included elk sausage with brie, royals pizza, and a make your own. 4th person had the shrimp Alfredo. All entrees were hot and flavorful.

I ordered a meat lovers pizza, the crust was good but the sauce needs to be changed because it was too runny and kinda cheap tasting. The ham topping was.mediocre. We shared the chicken wings and they were very small and the sauce was very mild..not worth the price. They just opened a few days ago so the service was poor but it may have been our waitress. I will come back in another month and hopefully the pizza sauce will be improved and they have a better ham topping.

This is the WORST pizza experience I've had in a long time. I was expecting that a restaurant specializing in pizza would have a special pizza. Definitely not this place. Crust was bland and undercooked. Toppings are not the freshest. Only thing I could taste from the brick oven was the burnt brick-like dust on the bottom of my pie. Another weird thing are their additional menu items. What is a pizza place doing serving gyros and broccolini??? Skip this place for sure!!!

  • Meg L.

I hate to be a naysayer, but Im naysaying. Ive had better pizza from a box. They have some of the stuff right. The brick oven thing is great, but the chicken is packaged, and the sauce tastes from a can. They have a good opportunity here bc there are very few good pizza places out in this area. If they just go legit and make their stuff there, and not use prepackaged junk, they will have it. We had the Margherita Pizza with chicken, and it was not as good as Digiorno.......It could have been great......

Just stopped by a new place at the Legends on a whim "hey let's try that place". What a great surprise! We had Spanish, French (the crowd favorite), Greek and 3 cheese. We didn't even have a crumb to bring home. Plus a couple of good salads. We found the staff attentive and willing to add some special touches (like crumbled blue cheese on my salad - yum). The crust is like brick oven pizza crust is supposed to be - a little crunchy on the edges and soft in the middle - fold it over smile and eat! The legends is a drive for us and we dont do it often but we will for this pizza.

The snooty coyote is my go to pizza. The elk sausage is impressive. I have to admit, pizza is usually just pizza to me - makes no difference to me where it's from. Chiusano's changed that for me. Being brick oven brings a unique flavor to the crust you just can't get from your regular pizza place, and I love it. The building is a little dark but it's kinda romantic for dates. The staff is also very friendly and communicates well. I suggest this place to everyone at least once.

This was possibly the worst meal my family and I have had in a very long time. I had the eggplant parm. My wife the chicken parm. Both were dripping in oil and the pasta they were placed on was soggy and the sauce unedable My son had a large specialty pizza, called Nancy s choice. It looked ok, but had not been cooked long enough and the crust was raw. You could not even ven pick up a slice it fell apart. My other son got the Mac and cheese which was straight out of a kraft box. 28c at Walmart. One portion $7.00 at this restaurant. I raised my concerns to the waitress and they still made me pay for all the food. Even though we never ate most of it. (My youngest did eat the mac & cheese) I suggest you never go near this place there are many options in the area. I BET THIS ONE DOESN'T LAST A YEAR.

The pizza flavor was great. Very large salads. The Greek salad was delicious. The crust was thin and a little undercooked in the center but the taste made up for not liking that type of crust. The service was amazing. A small staff worked together to stay on top of all the tables. I'm pretty sure we even saw the owner checking on everyone. We will come back for sure.

After seeing 2 hour wait times at another, dinosaur-themed restaurant, we decided that Chiusano's sounded like a good idea... especially since they had zero wait. We got right in, crayons were provided for the kids to draw on the brown butcher paper on the tables, which kept them quiet until the food game. Everything was really nice and clean, no tears in the upholstery or stickiness on the tables. Waitress was fast and our appetizer, the fried ravioli, came out very quickly. The ravioli has a nice ricotta filling that was very pleasant. Not sure if they were housemade or frozen, but very tasty all the same. The marinara sauce was pretty decent, perhaps a bit too much thyme or oregano (couldn't quite tell which was the culprit), and not enough basil. Reminded me of the old Domino's pizza sauce from years past,if you remember that. I ordered a specialty pizza, Karen's Favorite Pizza (I believe that was the name): Italian sausage, pesto, garlic, roma tomatoes. Pretty good, but not salted enough. The pizza was cooked to perfection and the crust was delicious, but the pizza was bland with almost just a garlic taste until salting and adding parmesan cheese. This allowed the tomatoes, sausage, and pesto to shine and make the whole pizza sing. My wife ordered the chicken parm, which was both ridiculously good, and ridiculously overwrought. First, the chicken breading and preparation was fantastic. Really quite delicious. The red wine sauce was pretty interesting, but not my favorite. With salt, pepper and parmesan cheese, it was improved, but still had a unique flavoring that I couldn't quantify as delicious, but was not necessarily bad, either. The serving size, on the other hand, was outrageous. Between my wife and I, and our three kids, we could have all eaten just her parm and still would have had leftovers of the sauce and pasta. If the zombie apocalypse is ever close at hand, this would be the first dish I turn towards to guarantee my family's nourishment for years to come. The kids had chocolate milk, which tasted like whole milk with Hershey syrup, was $1 more than regular, and did not include refills, but at least the portions there were decent, as well. Their fries were decent, but nothing special. They don't have car seat slings, fyi. Right before we left, a one man band began to play country music that didn't assault the rats in volume, nor style, so that was nice, as well. Made my kids dance in the aisle, so how bad could it be? Would eat here again, but would make sure to have salt and parmesan cheese (neither of which I would typically ever use at a restaurant).

The building was nice, wood walls and high booths. People are friendly and fast. Pizza... Awful. Just awful. We ordered the BBQ Chicken pizza and couldn't get past our first slice. The taste of the cheese seemed cheap, the chicken flavor was strong (liked cooked too long or old cooked chicken), and the sauce was bbq sauce not red sauce. The chicken wasn't even bar-b-qued! Needless to say it was pretty gross. We also got Garlic Knots, they were also pretty bad. Really chewy dough soaked in olive oil (which was half of the bowl) too much garlic seasoning, and covered with way too much old shredded cheese. We will not be returning. Not recommended.

This place pretty good , I'm not a huge pizza lover but the pizza was very Unique and loved the crust , we had chicken Parmesan & a Philly pizza both pretty tasty & everyone seemed to enjoy and for appetizer we had sweet potatoe fries with a Thai sauce , very good too!

Fast and friendly service. Great tasting pizza cooked in brick ovens. My only criticism woulkd be that the crust is very thin. They have a variety of specialty pizza's with ingredients you usually don't find on a pizza, like elk sausage, sliced sirloin, shrimp, feta & brie cheeses. The salads are really good. I will be going back for more!!

Food was OK but a bit expensive for what you get. I guess I just expect more from a $21 pizza, and $6 for a side salad is a bit extreme. The food is not bad by any means, but it's nothing I would recommend friends go and try. I also thought it was odd that they added an 18% gratuity on a bill for a party of 6.

We were at Legends on Saturday night for dinner and stumbled into Chuisano's when the wait was 90 minutes for The Yardhouse. We were so happy to find just a couple minutes wait and a cozy booth. We enjoyed drinks, appetizers and three different kinds of pizza. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Highly recommended to anyone looking for somewhere different! We ordered a large Margherita pizza, and two small pizzas: The Sporting KC without olives, and The Speedway without mushrooms. We loved the Garlic Knots and Fried Mozzarella.

I rarely give anyone five stars, but when I ate here I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. I can't believe there's a place that earns my very particular seal of approval for pizza (if you're from the east coast and love NY style pizza, this place will not disappoint). Pizza was great. Fried ravioli were AMAZING (filled with a ricotta cheese mix not crappy Chef Boyardee mystery meat). The specialty pizzas are great, or you can build whatever you like. Thin crust on the bottom, nice puff around the edges and the sauce and crust is really tasty. The service was great the night we were there. They accidentally ripped a small hole in the bottom of my (16-inch!) French pizza, and told us when they brought it out. The pizza was perfectly fine but they insisted on giving us a whole new free pizza in addition to it. To find pizza like this in Wyandotte County is a true blessing. Compliments to the chef and EVERYONE. I can't wait to eat here again.

This is below average pizza for the KC area. I like the different topping options that they offer (take a peek at the menu), and there is a nice garlic taste in the sauce. In the end, the overall package is better elsewhere.

The Pizza was GREAT!!! They have so many options for toppings and even gluten-free crust. The staff was really nice and helpful. The crust tasted sooooo good. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Came here for a late lunch / early dinner with the family. Ordered the sampler as an appetizer and have to say we were extremely disappointed. If you like store bought fried mozzarella sticks and ravioli then I suggest you buy some at the store and fry them yourself, because that's all these were. The wings were ok, nothing special and the garlic knots were cold and chewy. We asked the waiter if this was normal for their garlic knots or if it was possibly because we were there at an odd time. He said they shouldn't be cold an offered to bring us some more. The fact that "fresh batch" were also cold and chewy was only partially the issue, but the real disappointment was that our waiter never asked if they were better but rather seemed to ignore us for the remainder of the meal, never so much as refilling our waters. How long does it take to bake a fresh order of garlic knots? I have no idea, but I bet I'd be willing to wait! As for the pizza, that's the only reason this place is getting three stars. I though about taking off another star for the appetizer and service, but this IS a pizza place, and I believe the pizza deserves three stars. We ordered two 9" pizzas, one traditional combo and a Thai chicken to try something different. The crust on both were great, despite other reviews about it being doughy, and the taste was pretty good. The traditional combo was actually very good, although far from the best pizza I've ever had. The Thai chicken on the other hand, which was suppose to come with broccoli, carrots, and red onion toppings along with a peanut sauce and of course, chicken, sported a whole one piece of broccoli, not a carrot to be seen, and a handful of onion and chicken. Now I know that "toppings aren't everything," but common', one piece of broccoli? If you're going to put it on the menu, put at least a little on my pizza! Overall, not the best dining experience, but decent pizza.

The pizza was great! Lots of unique toppings and reasonably priced. I had the snooty coyote and my husband had the buffalo chicken. Both were really good and we saw other kinds that we will be going back to try. The Thursday night bourbon flight special was great too! Everyone offered a suggestion. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The owner is highly visible and made sure to stop at every table to make sure everything was good. He also made a point to talk to each patron, not just ask how everything was, but to build a connection with his customers. They stayed open late and continued to seat customers after they had closed. I really hope they stay in business!

I was very exiceted to try this place, and I'm glad that some one has finally filled the space that Ted's left. That being said this place is a pizzeria that may be trying to hard. Their menu is too varied with every kind of food imaginable, and they fall into the cliché of playing jazz in backround for an ambiance. They earn a lot of points in my book for having very creative selection of pizzas. Their ingredients are fresh and well thought out. They have a very thin crust style of pizza, and this creates a hard time keeping the cheese and toppings on the pizza. The pizza was good but I have had better. Over all if your looking for friendly service and a pizza that won't leave you feeling overloaded but lets you try taste you wont find at most chain style places, this is the right place for you.

Not good. Under cooked, very bland. I ordered the light combo which included one slice of pizza with 2 toppings, and a salad or soup. I ordered the soup which was decent. On my pizza I ordered chicken and jalapenos. Ok, so one would think you can't mess that up. The chicken tasted as if it were from a can and the stem of a jalapeno on the pizza.....REALLY? The waitress was nice but she huddled with the overage of staff in the back more often than not. I hate to say I won't return.

Needs some work. I have been twice first time was great the second time not so great. The service needs to work on customer service skills and friendliness. The pizza is good but pricing structure needs some work, and what is up with the $3.00 pop prices, might as well order a beer? Appetizer are lacking in variety and taste and defiantly not worth their price. The french pizza was great, the margarita pizza a bit lacking in taste compared to others i.e frozen pizza. Overall hope this place works out their kinks and gets some decorations on the wall.

I visited Chiusano's with my son and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The crust on everything we ordered was perfect. My son had a slice of pepperoni and I had the Spanish pizza, both were excellent. The only area where I could see room for improvement is the garlic knots. There really wasn't a lot of garlic to them. I will definitely return.

My family has come in quite a few times and loved everything we've had each time. We've brought visiting friends and family, and my son, who has autism and can be picky about some foods, loved your small cheese pizza so much we had to get him a second one, and he's only 5! It's quiet enough for a meal alone or for two, but my kids are fine there as well. My current favorite is the cheesesteak pizza. As a military brat and now a military wife, I've lived abroad and around the US, and Chiusano's is excellent in every respect- service, food, ambiance. It's packed on the weekends, though, so come early to find parking!

Went here before the Sporting KC US Open Cup game with my son-in-law and grandson. We were seated immediately. Our waitress, Tisa was wonderful. Great personality and made this a 5 star rating with her great service. We had the Chef Roberto's pizza and the combination of toppings were very unique and tasty. The beer special was $4.50 for a pint of Boulevard Wheat which came with a free Sporting KC glass. We have season tickets so I know we will be back again!

I'm adding an extra star to balance out the crazies that scored this place low. I don't know why anyone would say it isn't brick oven pizza bc it may have had a crispy 'burnt' spot... Anyone surprised by that must prefer raw pizza dough or should stick to deep dish /fried in grease pizza from Pizza Hut. the shape of the pizza was clearly flattened by hands, and not from a frozen disk in a package... what was that girl talking about who said it wasn't as good as that dry, cardboard frozen pizza?!? omg!! Lol. I think that might be the problem actually... people eat so much processed non-real foods lacking authenticity, they can't like good food any more! and I don't think anyone could say this place doesn't have huge flavor. We had chicken-artichoke+bacon+spinach pizza with garlic/olive oil for sauce. It had very good artisan style crust, light, with just enough chewy and crispy textures. And it had the perfect amount of cheese (I hate cheesy/greasy pizza). We came near closing, so we had good service as we were seated by the bar in a mostly empty restaurant. Im sure if we were there on a game day the service would have been different. i dont know how anyone would expect to be the center of the universe in a packed restaurant - but 'good service' is subjective..anyway, the chef suggested our pizza topping. It was delicious and we also had dessert which was made in-house along with its dipping sauces. we had a great time and will come here every time I eat at legends. I prefer NOT to spend my money at chain restaurants, and there are no other family owned restaurants at Legends (that I saw). I recommend this place if you know how to eat

It's perfect for a little over indulging and for sharing with your friends that have ordered something different. The Snooty Coyote and Nancy's Favorite were both excellent. I wasn't very impressed with Chiusano's. The pizza was meh. The interior of the place seems so dark and drab. The service was good and our server was incredibly nice but the food was so bland and forgettable. The pizzas lean more toward "gourmet" style but that still isn't enough to add a "wow" factor. Most likely not eating here again.

Enjoy!!

This is not your tradition pizza, it offers a variety of unique and delicious flavors. If you want a plain cheese, pepperoni, or chicken then this place isn't for you. However, as someone who likes to try new flavors, this is one of my favorite pizza places in the area!

Big pizza fan! The pizza here was very good I choose the breakfast pizza! Crust was cooked perfectly and the bartender made a perfect suggestion to add hot sauce! I would recommend eating here!

So good!

  • Troy D.

  • Ryan K.

  • Elizabeth A.

    (3)
  • Cindi W.

    (4)
  • Alex W.

Whenever my boyfriend and I have a craving for pizza, we always end up coming to Chiusano's. Our favorite pizza is the buffalo chicken (we refuse to order anything else!) It has just the right amount of wing sauce on the crust without making it too soggy. I enjoy their cocktails very much and always request Charlie to be our server. (A bit bias due to Charlie being good friends with my boyfriend, but he's an excellent server none the less.) The bathroom is always clean and tidy, and the staff always seem upbeat and friendly.

OVER-RATED The restaurant environment was nice. The waitstaff was pleasant. The service was good. The pizza....not really very good. It was pretty pricey and the pizza was really not so great. It was a very nice place but the food was just not worth the price.

This is not your tradition pizza, it offers a variety of unique and delicious flavors. If you want a plain cheese, pepperoni, or chicken then this place isn't for you. However, as someone who likes to try new flavors, this is one of my favorite pizza places in the area!

But hey good pizza Chiusano's! ....meh.

First time in KC and at the Legends and this is by far the best pizza and best service I've had in Kansas. Great atmosphere as well. Just a fantastic overall experience. A+++

Not traditional, but a good experience. Brick oven is not for everyone. I would come back, but I also wasn't expecting Pizza Hut.

Traditional 9" pizza is awesome, our server Melissa was inviting and had a service with a smile!

  • Alex W.

The veggie foody pizza with the gluten free crust was good. Will be eating here again. Service was also very quick and fast.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
